DOLCE & GABBANA AW18

“King’s Angels” - the new collection from Dolce & Gabbana is the epitome of ostentatious dressing. A introductory projection opened the grand spectacle, highlighting the familiar faces that made up the shows casting, such as Ross Lynch, Paris Brosnan and the brands current poster boy Christian Combs, to briefly name a few. The army of male millennial models took to the runways of the AW18 show, draped in excessively luxurious ready to wear styling that explored every genre of menswear imaginable.

A fashion kaleidoscope of opulent tones and textures unfolded throughout the show as looks jumped from classic tailored suits and double breasted jackets to oversized velvet sweatshirts and side striped track pants. There was a look for every occasion, with patterns and colours stretching the design spectrum as embroidery, pinstripes and even heavy use of sequins embellished each design in a colour palette of jewel tones. Burgundy, royal blues and deep purples held a prominent reoccurrence throughout the collection whilst vivid injections of yellow and pinks into highlighting accessories such as socks added a flamboyancy to the otherwise sophisticated, almost regal Sicilian driven designs.

The Dolce & Gabbana AW18 collection was one for the youth, celebrating the grandeur of maximalist styling with an array of designs saturated in the sumptuous beauty of renaissance reminiscent excess.
