WORDS Julian de la Celle

Patrick Grant, owner and creative director of heritage house E. Tautz, drew inspiration from multiple sources - British documentary photographer Peter Mitchell, 1970s post-industrial Leeds and...scarecrows? The latter may seem like an odd subject to help inspire E. Tantz's AW17 collection, but somehow it's understood.

The collection takes us back to the days of tweed and checkered button ups, slacks and warm sweaters. There's an aura of the working class man of the 1950s. Some may call the collection dull or say that it's lacking creativity, but there's a certain nostalgic charm about each piece that shines through and welcomes the admiration of it's audience.
