Two months after Hedi Slimane's exit as creative director of Saint Laurent, he has launched legal proceedings against Kering, the owners of the French fashion house.
“Kering confirmed the lawsuit in a statement and said it concerned Slimane's non-competition obligation.” Reuters reports. “We had lifted this clause at the end of Hedi Slimane's contract, freeing him from this potential constraint.”
Hedi Slimane changed Saint Laurent with his unique vision and design during his 4 year tenure as creative and imagine director for the brand.
However, Kering still tries to hold the situation in a positive light as written in the following statement: "This disagreement does not alter the Group's recognition of Hedi Slimane's contribution. ”
