Premiere Track: The Lizards - "Houdini"

The Lizards

WORDS Harley Cassidy

We bring you a new track from Birmingham based, psychedelic four-piece The Lizards! Their music is already imbued with a kaleidoscope of influences. From The Beatles sweet-tinged harmonies to Ty Segall's garage-fuzz wig-outs to Tame Impala's cosmic hooks, their latest release, "Houdini," is a perfect package of everything The Lizards do best.

Never ones to take themselves too seriously, guitarist and co-frontman Cameron Harris insists the song is pretty nonsensical and goofy. 'Its about a wizard who comes and takes you away in the middle of the night and loads of weird shit starts happening. We ended up recording the video ourselves to keep our vision and cut costs'. Below is the suitably trippy video to their single, a lysergic peek into the Lizards' background featuring lead singer Dan Whitehouse's distinctive graphic design. A landscape of vibrancy, lo-fi cool and distorted imagery, sit back and enjoy.

The Lizards have upcoming shows supporting Palm Honey, Cabbage, The Vryll Society & Hidden Charms. To find out more about The Lizards and where you can buy tickets, check out their Facebook HERE.
