Starry Nites launched their first festival last week at the Live Oak Camp in Santa Barbara, CA, bringing the likes of The Kills, Dandy Warhols and She Wants Revenge together for the festival's first night. One of our LA favorite, Feels, played an earlier set in the day time, but still managed to come out with the ferocity and high-energy to get the crowd moving. The stage set up was different to that of most festivals - both of the main stages were directly next to each other, so when one band finished their set, the other one started right away. What that really means is, you didn't have to go very far to watch the band of your choosing. The Dandy Warhols played a set packed with favorites such as "We Used To Be Friends" and "Bohemian Like You" and sounded better than ever. She Wants Revenge were up next and played a majority of tracks off of their self titled debut album, She Wants Revenge, which sounded remarkably like the record. The schedule for the night was a bit behind and halfway through their set, The Kills were supposed to start theirs, so frontman Justin Warfield played a few more songs and ended the night with "Tear You Apart". Then The Kills came on... I've seen them so many times before, but this has to be the best show I've seen them play. The chemistry between Jamie and Alison was incredible and they played off each other throughout the night (for their last song, Alison was seen sitting just below Jamie, smiling and watching him play the ending riff to "Monkey 23").
