Backstage with DE’WAYNE: Lenny Kravitz Live 2026

This summer saw DE’WAYNE hit the road across Europe with Lenny Kravitz, joining the rock icon on his Lenny Kravitz Live 2026 tour.

The pairing feels particularly fitting. DE’WAYNE has long cited Kravitz as an influence, and earlier this year the two joined forces on a new version of “highway robbery”, originally released on DE’WAYNE’s 2025 album june. Their collaboration grew out of a friendship after Kravitz discovered the young Houston artist online — bringing two generations of rock ’n’ roll together both in the studio and, this summer, on the road.

DE’WAYNE is no stranger to FOXES. We first photographed him for our Rebel Rebel print issue, and this summer we caught up with him again at the tour’s Budapest stop, photographing him backstage and on stage as he opened the night for Kravitz.

The European run took DE’WAYNE in front of huge new audiences, but his performances carried the same raw, restless energy that first caught our attention — a collision of rock, punk, soul and pop that feels indebted to the history of rock ’n’ roll without being confined by it.

Reflecting on the tour after its final show, DE’WAYNE thanked the crowds for giving him “a place to be myself and leave it all on the stage,” before paying tribute to Kravitz for believing in him and taking him along for the journey.

With the European run now behind him, DE’WAYNE is already looking forward: back to the studio, a new album in the works, and a return to Europe promised very, very soon.
